Satur.: Watched Irish Channel St. Pat's Parade on Jackson Avenue neutral ground; caught 13 cabbages - the kids had a blast.

Sun.: Rode Canal Street Ferry from Algiers Point to Central Business District, then boarded Canal streetcar to City Park; while there, we rode the "flying horses" and the miniature train that tours the park. We ate a late lunch at Bud's Broiler then got in line to see Dreams Come True at NOMA. Red beans and rice waited for us at home.

Saint Patrick
I was sitting on the deck in the back yard after work yesterday, reading and enjoying the weather. The birds were singing, new leaves on the trees, wispy white clouds in the blue sky overhead. All good reasons to feel happy and alive.

We plan to return to Orleans Parish this weekend for Irish Channel St. Pat's Parade 1pm Satur. We will be standing on Jackson Avenue neutral ground near Camp Street. I may also be in town 25-26April and Mother's Day weekend.

I know I rarely post here. Someone very special to me talked to me about it, so I am going to make more of an effort to do so. I do not really have any theme for this post, other than recent events. Yesterday was Thanxgivin`, which I spent working 8am-4:30; afterward, we drove to Natchitoches to visit friends we had not seen since before Katrina {and earlier!}. The drive was interesting, to say the least. 95 miles of sharp curves and pitch dark. I am sure the scenery would be lovely in the daylight, so I will get on the road before 5:45 next time.
Some of you know this already, but Hannah was in intensive care for six days with RSV, though she is doing much better now. Thank you for all your prayers and well-wishes; to those who did not know, I apologise for leaving you out of the loop, but I was kind of busy. Hannah will be Christened 9December2007, the day after Caleb's fifth birthday party. My parents and brothers will come up for that, so it will be good to see them. I am hoping to get in a little urbex while they are here.
We plan to be on the Northshore for New Year's; that will probably be the closest we will get to Orleans Parish until Samedi Gras and\or Saint Patrick's weekend. We usually stand here for Thoth, Mid-City, & Bacchus. We get there Super Sunday morning and do not leave until the evening; lots of people grilling and tossing footballs, ladder chairs everywhere. Very family-friendly. I know that may not sound like fun to you, but I have already done the whole "Bourbon with a million tourists" thing; not my scene. I think it must be my allergy to fratboys...

Well, that is it from my end today. It is almost time to go home - I am thinking of Taco Soup for supper, and that always takes too long to make. I might pass by Office Despot on the way home for some DVD+Rs. If you have read this far, here ya` go.

Blame it on teh Bastet
For the first three people that reply to me and re-post this challenge, I will send you something.

It might be something I've made, or something cool from my hidden stash, it might be a mix CD, or a rubber duck, a book I think you will enjoy, or something else that is awesome.

Whatever it is, I promise that I will get it to you in 365 days or less.

The only thing you need to do in order to participate is to be one of the first three to reply to this, AND post this very same thing on YOUR live journal - cause it's fun to give people stuff.
